Prince Harry 'exchanged strong words with Queen about key aide'

Prince Harry had strong words with the Queen about her key aide and told her ‘this woman needs to make this work’ during row over Meghan Markle’s wedding tiara fitting, says Finding Freedom author Omid Scobie

  • Omid Scobie claims Harry told the Queen: ‘I don’t know what the hell is going on’
  • Allegedly said of aide: ‘This woman needs to make this work for my future wife’
  • Exasperated call was made following tussle with Angela Kelly, key aide to Queen
  • It was about which tiara Meghan would wear when the couple wed in May 2018

Prince Harry exchanged strong words with the Queen about one of her key aides, according to the author of Finding Freedom.

Omid Scobie claims in an interview that will be broadcast today that the Duke of Sussex called his grandmother and said: ‘I don’t know what the hell is going on. This woman needs to make this work for my future wife.’

The exasperated call was made following a tussle with a key aide to Her Majesty, Angela Kelly, about which tiara Meghan would wear when the couple wed, Mr Scobie will say, reported The Sun.

It is a shocking new claim about how Prince Harry’s relationship with his family was strained that was not made in the controversial book.

However it is unclear why the author has not written about Harry’s alleged cursing at the Queen before.

The book says about the conversation with the Queen: ‘In the end, Harry had to speak to his grandmother about the situation.’

Mr Scobie will say: ‘Harry felt that there were those within the institution that would stop at nothing at the very least to make Meghan’s life difficult.

‘Meghan didn’t get to try the tiara on again until a few days before the wedding.’

The author claims in the True Royalty TV interview that Harry felt that the royal machine would ‘stop at nothing to make Meghan’s life difficult’.

He also claims that Prince William has not spoken to his brother properly since he revealed his plan to quit the UK for North America.

Auhtor Omid Scobie (pictured on ITV’s Lorraine last week) claims in an interview that the Duke of Sussex called his grandmother and said: ‘I don’t know what the hell is going on’

In the TV interview to promote the book Mr Scobie says: ‘The brothers had not spoken since around the time of the Sandringham summit.

‘They hadn’t seen each other. That’s really going to take some time to heal.’

‘I think the distance between the brothers grew wider and wider.

‘And that’s partly because of things that take place – and we discuss them in the book.’

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s plan to step back from their royal duties made the brother’s relationship difficult, says Mr Scobie.

He says: ‘I think really where it went wrong for Harry and Meghan and the Cambridges was that decision to go public with the road map to their new working model.

‘The statements weren’t discussed internally. That’s really what caused the most amount of hurt to William, because he wears two hats.

‘He’s not just the brother, he’s also future king and he felt that damaged the reputation of the family.’

‘That it put family business out into the public domain when it should’ve been discussed privately and there was a lot of hurt there that continues to this day.’
