Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie who was hospitalised for a week with COVID-19 was released on Saturday.
“I want to thank the extraordinary doctors & nurses who cared for me for the last week. Thanks to my family & friends for their prayers. I will have more to say about all of this next week,” Christie tweeted on Saturday.
Christie was one of several high ranking officials who tested positive for the virus after attending an event at the White House.
He was taken to hospital on October 3, citing his "history of asthma".
