Joe (played by Penn Badgley) and Love’s (Victoria Pedretti) toxic relationship came to a head in the closing moments of You season two when it was revealed the latter was pregnant. Despite almost murdering each other, the couple moved into a suburban home and believed they could become the perfect family with the birth of their new arrival. However, it has been hinted in the synopsis for the third season of the Netflix drama Joe could be eyeing up his next victim, Love, to ensure their child doesn’t turn out like them.

Linked to the trailer for the new episodes, the teaser reads: “Joe and Love, now married and raising their baby, have moved to the balmy Northern California enclave of Madre Linda, where they’re surrounded by privileged tech entrepreneurs, judgmental mommy bloggers and Insta-famous biohackers.

“Joe is committed to his new role as a husband and dad, but fears Love’s lethal impulsiveness. And then there’s his heart.

“Could the woman he’s been searching for all this time live right next door? Breaking out of a cage in a basement is one thing.

“But the prison of a picture-perfect marriage to a woman who’s wise to your tricks? Well, that’ll prove a much more complicated escape.”

With hints dropped he could betray his wife and also how “lethally impulsive” Love seems to be, will he get rid of his wife once and for all?

Love out the picture would mean their son, named Henry, would have one less killer parent to guide him through life.

Instead, he could have the neighbour next door as his mother if Joe decides he wants to begin a relationship with her.

Viewers might remember it was indicated Joe was going to have a new love interest in the final scene of season two, so could this be the mystery woman?

However, having once tried to kill Love before, will the father of one be able to finally strike the fatal blow?

Fans of the hit series will be able to stream the episodes very shortly as a release date has been unveiled in the new trailer.

Joe fears Love’s lethal impulsiveness

In the one minute clip, Joe is heard delivering a narration as a celebratory cake is being made to mark the new baby coming into the world.

The killer says: “People these days will name their kids anything to get attention. And despite your mother’s background and your Glamma’s determination to refer to you as Forty reincarnated, I know better.

“A boy is not what we expected, and I would be lying if I said the thought of a mini-me was purely exciting and not without…challenges.

“Let’s just say, I’m hoping you’ll do as I say, not as I do. But for you, I can change. I’ll be a man you look up to.”

“A man you will be proud to call Dad. So, what to call you? A name that’s strong, but not intimidating,” he continues.

“Classic, but not basic. Literary, of course, because you will grow up in a house full of books. Henry,” Joe adds as he reveals the baby’s name.

“Choosing your name is the first of a lifetime of decisions I’ll make to give you the best life possible, to protect you, to shape who you will become.

“Who are you going to be, Henry?” the chilling voice of a killer concludes as the release date is written into a slice of cake.

The new episodes will be available to stream from October 15, 2021, just a few short days before Halloween.

Reacting to the news, one viewer wrote on social media platform Twitter: “Forty-six days left, the countdown has begun.”

Another posted in reference to the new addition: “We are going to learn how to raise a child from the best.”

Whilst a third fan remarked: “The day before my 13th wedding anniversary as well? Oh, I am there for it.”

You season three is available to stream from October 15, 2021, on Netflix. You seasons 1-2 are available to stream on Netflix.
