NCIS Hawaii is here at last and has so far made a good impression on viewers. The CBS spin-off series is carving quite a name for itself as it is the first of the NCIS dramas to be led by a female agent. Actress Vanessa Lachey portrays Agent Jane Tennant who investigates marine and navy-related crimes on the stunning island state along with the rest of her team. But from time to time, they do need a bit of outside help to get to the truth.

Who plays Boom Boom on NCIS Hawaii?
Episode two of NCIS Hawaii’s first season, entitled Boom, was about the discovery of some World War Two explosives.
As NCIS doesn’t have superior knowledge of such technology, they temporarily welcomed Norman Gates, better known as Boom Boom, to the team.
Debi Lee took to Twitter saying that she hopes “Boom Boom will stick around for more than one episode”.
While Lex asked the creators of NCIS Hawaii if they could “keep” him in the show.
So far though, it doesn’t appear that Boom Boom is going to be made a regular character in the drama.
He was introduced as a guest star and for now, at least, this remains to be the case.
Boom Boom in NCIS Hawaii is played by actor Sharif Atkins.
The 46-year-old is probably best known for his role as Dr Michael Gallant in season eight of NBC’s ER.
He was also FBI Agent Clinton Jones in USA Network’s White Collar for five years.
Some of his other smaller roles have been in Queen of the South, The Good Wife, SEAL Team and The Good Doctor.

In terms of Atkins’ film career, he has featured in Netflix’s Open House, Aftermath and Guardians of the Galaxy as Nova Corps.
NCIS Hawaii isn’t the first time the actor has taken on a part on the island.
Back in 2004, Atkins played Detective John Declan in NBC’s police drama Hawaii.
He also had a role in an episode of Magnum PI which is also set on the island in 2019.
NCIS Hawaii will return on Monday, October 4, on CBS for its third episode.
This latest instalment is going to be called Recruiter and it sounds like more focus is going to be on Kai Holman (Alex Tarrant).
The description reads: “Kai goes undercover with one of Hawai’i’s oldest surf gangs when a petty officer who’s trying to help wayward kids find a new path in the Marines is murdered.”
NCIS Hawaii airs Monday on CBS in the USA. A UK release date is yet to be announced.
