Top Boy stars reunite for pic ahead of season 4 dropping on Netflix

THE young stars of Netflix's Top Boy sparked excitement about the latest season of the drama after they were spotted together.

The group of rising stars posted the same photo of them posing seriously and describing themselves as "family".

Jamie actor, Michael Ward, and Jasmine Jobson who plays Jaq lead the social media charge as did their co-stars Araloyin Oshunremi, Hope Ikpoku Jnr, Kadeem Ramsay and Alexander Blake.

Jasmine captioned her photo: "[sic] Who Said You Can't Choose You're Family?" 

Michael posted other photos of himself with Araloyin and Hope, writing: "Monday morning. Let's geddit!"

Top Boy lead actor Ashley Walters – who plays drug dealer Dushane – joked he felt betrayed the youngsters were hanging out without him.




He wrote on Jaq's photo: "Traitor, lol."

The actors' fans hoped they were reuniting to film more Top Boy and inundated their Instagram comments asking when season four of the show was coming out.

The show confirmed it would start shooting for the new season in spring, but the coronavirus pandemic will likely have put a pause on filming.

The show is set on the fictional Summerhouse estate in Hackney, East London, and follows the rise of Dushane and his friend Sully in the dangerous underground drugs business.

The show was nominated for a Bafta in 2012, but was dropped a year later by Channel 4 despite its cult following.

Canadian rapper Drake was instrumental in bringing the show back after it first aired on Channel 4.

Its fourth season will be the second on Netflix since Drake resurrected it.

In the years since, the show's stars have gone on to become stars in their own rights with Micheal Ward recently winning the Bafta Rising Star award, and Little Simz – real name Simbiatu Ajikawo – winning the Best British Album award at the 2020 NME Awards.


For those who are yet to watch a single episode of Top Boy or you just want to refresh your memory, Netflix has all three seasons available for you to watch at any time.

Seasons 1 and 2 can be found under the name Top Boy: Summerhouse.

Each of those series are just four episodes long so it shouldn't take you long to catch up.

Season 3 of Top Boy is 10 episodes long and each episode lasts for approximately an hour.
