The Blacklist: Dr. Laken Perillos makes her return
The Blacklist’s 10th and final season continued on Sunday night but many fans have branded the latest offering a “filler episode”.
After wrapping up a gripping two-parter with the Troll Farmer aka Bo Chang (played by Aaron Yoo), this week Harold Cooper (Harry Lennix) did some digging into his past.
Following a shooting at a high-security prison, Raymond ‘Red’ Reddington (James Spader) and the team are called to investigate a contraband smuggler known as The Postman aka Lawrence Nelson (Robert Neary).
However, much of the episode was also centred around Red bonding with his granddaughter Agnes Keen (Sami Bray) over chess and the online game Among Us.
Several fans took to social media after the episode to complain about the dull direction The Blacklist’s final season went this week.
@Icekold1545 simply tweeted: “This was such a boring episode.”
David Boren said: “Well that was a filler episode that was fine but still really just a waste of time.” (sic)
@imyourplusone wrote: “OK so it was a filler episode but two ‘Pinky’ and Agnes scenes.
“And Red getting Herbie Hambwright (Alex Brightman) to teach him how to FaceTime so he can watch nervously as Agnes opens her present and I’m fine with the filler.” (sic)
@deray said: “Now, I love #TheBlacklist but I have no clue where this episode is going.”

This episode also saw FBI agent Donald Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) sponsoring a government employee in AA, Jonathan Pritchard (Mackenzie Astin), but fans are worried the storyline might not get wrapped up.
Over on Reddit, u/jen5225 said: “This episode wasn’t as exciting as the previous one, but definitely better than some others.
“I’m also not sure what they’re trying to do with Ressler sponsoring this guy. It seems like filler that isn’t interesting.”
Although Dro1972 argued: “I posted elsewhere… I don’t think the sponsor thing is filler.”
“No way we get final season throwaway scenes from a secondary character that only knows one member of the core group.
“Dude is a plant and will be central to something big in the final episodes.”
Could Ressler’s sponsor be hiding a dark secret or will this divisive storyline simply fizzle out by the end of the season?
Despite a disappointing midseason episode, The Blacklist is still going out on a high as millions of viewers are still hooked by Red’s missions each week.
The Blacklist season 10 continues Sundays on NBC in the USA. A UK release date is yet to be announced.
