This year’s class of Strictly Come Dancing stars have only just begun battling it out on the dance floor. However, BBC bosses have confirmed there will be a huge shake-up for the 2020 Grand Final as five couples will make it through to the final instalment rather than repeating last year’s schedule where three couples battled it out.

Strictly 2020 will have a shorter run than usual because of the coronavirus pandemic.

BBC bosses have decided to make sure the series goes out with a bang.

Strictly viewers voting in double evictions was also an option but producers opted for a five couple final instead.

“They are sure it will capture imaginations. It will make things much more open with the potential for big shocks,” a source told The Mirror.
