James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) has been hellbent on taking Liam Donovan (Jude Monk McGowan) down in Hollyoaks, but the animosity between the two developed into something very different during tonight’s episode, as they found themselves unable to resist the evident chemistry, and therefore shared an incredibly steamy kiss.
Liam and James have been in each other’s company quite a lot over the last few weeks, after the latter agreed to defend the former during a police interview regarding Mercedes’ (Jennifer Metcalfe) shooting.
However, after James arrived home to find Juliet (Niamh Blackshaw) attempting to help Sid (Billy Price) — who’d taken drugs — he became hellbent on taking Liam down once he became aware of the fact that it was he who sold the young lad the substance in the first place.
in spite of James doing his utmost to keep his revenge mission secret, Liam copped on to what he was up to. He informed him that — in spite of the anger he feels towards Mercedes — getting him arrested won’t take away the pain of losing Harry (Parry Glasspool). With both men having lost the love of their lives, they bonded further.
With Romeo’s (Owen Warner) comments about celebrating Christmas together playing over in his mind, James realised that he didn’t want to play a happy families, but rather he wanted to embrace his darker side — which Liam seemingly encouraged.
Therefore he propositioned The Loft manager — offering him the opportunity to join forces and forge a criminal empire of sorts.
During tonight’s episode, James craved an answer — and he bumped into Liam looking ever so dashing in a Krampus outfit. However, Liam wasn’t sold on the idea, and proceeded to call James a boring man in a suit.
However, the electricity between the two men continued to grow, and as they discussed the proposition further, both came to realise that they had more in common than they initially thought — so much so that, after rescuing Kyle (Adam Rickitt) from a thug, James suggested that they start a racketeering business together.
With everything falling into place, the chemistry between the two men was simply off the charts — they shared a passionate — and very very steamy — kiss, before taking things to the next level.
Will this be the beginning of something special?
Or will they regret what happened the morning after?
Hollyoaks continues Friday 13th December at 7pm on E4.
