Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) has had a terrible year on Coronation Street. Left traumatised by her and Seb’s attack, Nina has been suffering with PTSD and anxiety.
And the departure of Roy (David Nielson) recently has only made things worse as she struggled to cope without his support.
It’s left Nina in a fragile state, and she recently had a full-blown panic attack when a drunken gang calling Kelly (Millie Gibson) names triggered memories of how the attack on her and Seb unfolded.
In upcoming episodes her anxiety gets out of hand. A trivial incident when Faye (Ellie Leach) has to brake sharply in front of Nina and Asha (Tanisha Gorey) while she’s having her first driving lesson leaves Nina badly shaken.
Asha finds this incident amusing, but she doesn’t realise how deeply traumatised Nina is. Nina’s worst fear is that something bad will happen to people she loves, like it did to Seb.
She’s constantly terrified that something awful will happen to Asha whenever she’s out of sight.
Carla (Alison King) realises that Nina is struggling and does her best to help.
But will Nina be able to open up to Asha about what’s going on?
