HOLLYWOOD star Gene Hackman has been spotted for the first time in two years as he stepped out to grab a coffee

The Oscar winner, 93, is known for movies Mississippi Burning, Superman, and The French Connection.

Yet he has lived a reclusive lifestyle since his retirement in 2008, moving to reside in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with wife Betsy Arakawa.

Now the iconic actor has been spotted grabbing snacks and a take-out coffee from a petrol station.

Gene was seen in a green baseball cap as he covered up from the sunshine, wearing jeans, a long-sleeve top and a fleece gilet.

After striding out of the shop with a pair of sunglasses perched on his head he made his way to his car.
