Power came to an end back in 2020 on Starz with the release of season six and kept fans on the edge of their seats, leading many to go back through the show in the hope of discovering new details. Viewers have done just that and have discovered a plot hole concerning the age of one particular character.

While many fans are currently enjoying the sequel, Power Book II: Ghost, some viewers feel there are some leftover questions from the original series.

With six seasons of storytelling and countless characters coming and going from the show, it is inevitable some things will become mixed up.

This particular plot hole concerns Yasmine (played by Amaya Carr), with the age of the character being called into question.

Fans have taken to Reddit to discuss Yasmine’s age, noting there are some inconsistencies when compared to the ages of her siblings.

User OK_Knee1222 wrote: “What’s the timeline on the show? How is it that Yasmin was in a crib season 2, But is now like 10? And her siblings only aged 3 years. Someone explain.”

Another user swept in to explain, noting the series is supposed to take place over the course of just six months.

ClericIdola replied: “CK confirmed Power Book 1 happens over the course of 6 months. Keep in mind that Power takes place in New York City where Spider-man is currently being shot.

“Keep in mind Ghost’s ID in Book 1 showed he was born in 7…4, if I remember correctly.

“CK also states Ghost and Tommy are 10 when Raising Kanan Season 1 (in 1991) happens.”

ClericIdola jokingly added: “All of this soft confirms that Power is a part of the MCU and it takes place in the Quantumverse where time moves differently.”

However, while this explanation did satisfy many of the fans, some didn’t agree and simply accepted the fact there were problems with the timeline.

“The timeline doesn’t make sense, just make up your own head-canon,” DCdem added.

While this is a clear continuity error, it doesn’t affect the plot of the show in any way.

With Power Book II season two airing on November 21, there is always the chance the timeline could finally be clarified.

However, as a continuation of the original series, it is more likely these discrepancies will not be addressed.

The spin-off picked up just a few short days after the finale of Power, keeping to the original series six-month timeline.

The sequel follows Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr) navigating his new life, in which his desire to shed his father’s legacy comes up against the mounting pressure to save his family.

Just how all this will play out in season two remains to be seen, but many fans are hoping for more connections to the original series.

Yasmine has made some limited appearances in the first season of the show, now played by Paris Morgan.

Power is available to watch on Star in the USA. The show is on Netflix in the UK.
