A few months ago in Coronation Street, the topic of assisted dying was looked at when Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) – who has motor neurone disease – told Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) that he’d like his help with ending his life.
Understandably, Billy was horrified.
As the couple gave each other space, Paul ended up chatting to Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) in the pub about his request.
Todd helped Paul understand where Billy was coming from, which was enough for the character to change his mind.

However, in upcoming episodes, it appears the difficult subject is still something Paul wants to think about.
At the start of the week, Paul and Billy’s focus turns to their stag do. It’s held in the Bistro and when they arrive, Billy is initially taken aback to see all the glitter and rainbows.
As the event gets underway, Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) is paid a visit by two police officers. They ask her questions about a potential fraud investigation involving Shelley – Paul’s friend – but Bernie maintains that all she’s been doing is helping a woman with MND collect a few parcels.
The police then deliver a shock revelation for Bernie, which will leave Paul reeling.
Later, Paul approaches Todd and tells him to keep quiet about the assisted dying plan.
It appears Todd has a lot on his plate next week, as he’s also seen admitting to Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) that he doesn’t like his new job at RestEasy and wants to return to working with George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley).
But will he let Todd come back?
Being asked to keep quiet over Paul’s secret is huge, but will Todd continue to respect his wishes?
