Panic over! Corrie's Sally Dynevor won't be quitting the cobbles anytime soon

Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor has hit back at claims the cast are unhappy with new boss Iain MacLeod, who joined the soap earlier this year.

Recent weeks have seen a number of high profile exits confirmed for the cobbles, with the likes of Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt), Kym Marsh (Michelle Connor) and Faye Brookes (Kate Connor) among the stars to leave the ITV soap.

During today’s Lorraine, the host – a notoriously avid Corrie fan – made a desperate plea to the Sally Metcalfe star to never leave.

‘Can you just nail your feet to the floor?’ she begged.

Thankfully, Lorraine needn’t have worried.

‘I am so happy!’ assured Sal. ‘Everyone keeps saying about all these things in the media and it’s so not true.

‘Everyone’s really happy I don’t know where this story has come from. I’m nailing my feet to the floor, I’m staying – if that’s ok?’

Sally’s statement echoes comments made by Kym last week, who despite being among those to be bowing out of Coronation Street insisted the soap will continue to thrive.

‘Whichever actors are involved in it, Coronation Street will continue to be a big, brilliant show,’ she told OK! Magazine.

‘There’s no “crisis”. It’s just natural that a show like Corrie will have comings and goings – just like you would on any real-life street in the UK!

‘I personally can’t wait to see which new faces might be turning up on the cobbles.’

There’s been a denial of crisis talks from’s source close to the show, who told us: ‘There aren’t nor have there been any crisis talks.’

Coronation Street continues tonight at 7.30pm on ITV while Lorraine airs weekdays at 8.30am on the same channel.
