'Loki' Season Finale Proves Fans Were Right to Mistrust This Character

Marvel’s Loki presented fans with mystery after mystery, along with a cast of characters that weren’t exactly trustworthy. To start, the show features multiple Loki variants, all of whom are known for their trickery. However, the Time Variance Authority also made fans increasingly suspicious, and one character stood out as particularly untrustworthy: the organization’s mascot, Miss Minutes. The Loki season finale revealed more about the character and confirmed fans were right to mistrust her — though her motivations remain unclear.

Who is Miss Minutes?

Loki introduces Miss Minutes during its second episode, dubbing her the TVA’s mascot. The orange clock explains the Sacred Timeline to Loki (Tom Hiddleston), seemingly just there to relay information. However, fans of the show quickly surmised that the character could play a bigger role later on. In fact, some went so far as to suggest she could be pulling the strings at the TVA.

While the Loki finale debunked the notion that Miss Minutes is the mastermind behind the organization, it did reveal new information about her. As it turns out, fan predictions about her weren’t completely off. Miss Minutes was indeed hiding something.

The ‘Loki’ season finale revealed who Miss Minutes was working for

The Loki season finale proved fans were right to be suspicious of Miss Minutes, revealing the clock was actually working for He Who Remains, or Kang the Conquerer (Jonathan Majors). When Loki and Sylvie pass through the void at the end of the world, the TVA mascot is the first character they run into.

From her brief conversation with the pair, it’s clear Miss Minutes knew the origins of the TVA — something she lied to the variants working there about. In fact, Episode 6 sees her manipulating and lying to Judge Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), driving home the mascot’s role in the TVA deception.

Will Miss Minutes return in ‘Loki’ Season 2?

Although the Loki season finale confirmed Miss Minutes as untrustworthy, it didn’t provide any further insight into her motivations. It’s possible she’s simply a creation of Kang the Conqueror, programmed to do his bidding. However, Tara Strong, who voices the orange clock, teased that the character could have “a horse in this race” during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

If that’s the case, Miss Minutes may have her own reasons for keeping Kang’s secrets. With Loki transported to an alternate version of the TVA, the likelihood that fans will see the mascot again is high. After all, the agents don’t know about her ties to Kang. That’s not to mention there are officially multiple TVAs, a prime opportunity for Miss Minutes to continue her work.

Could Miss Minutes actively work against Loki and the other characters trying to restore the Sacred Timeline? Only time will tell, but it wouldn’t be the first curveball Marvel threw fans’ way.
