Line Of Duty series five DVD hits Sainsbury’s 24 hours before final airs

Line Of Duty bosses have dropped a major clanger by releasing the series 5 DVD into shops 24 hours before the final airs on TV.

Fans of hit cop show have discovered they can watch the last episode a day before it's on TV after spotting the complete boxset in Sainsbury's.

The finale airs on BBC1 tomorrow night but it's already available if you head down to Sainsbury's.

The series five DVD is available alongside the complete 1-5 boxset.

Fans have been posting picturs of themselves snapping up the DVDs and rushing home to watch the final.

It could mean bad news for BBC bosses as spoilers could end up on social media 24 hours before the show airs.

Followers are dying to find out what happens in tomorrow night's episode as the fate of Ted Hastings is revealed.

While they're hoping the identity of the mysterious H is finally uncovered.

The show's star Martin Compston hit the headlines earlier this week amid reports he had been offered a new two-series deal.

With series five about to reach a gripping climax, writer Jed Mercurio was said to have wanted to keep Compston on board beyond the planned sixth instalment of the hit BBC cop drama.

However, the creator angrily denied any plans are afoot for more seasons of the popular cop show.

He tweeted: "I’m not writing S6 let alone S7."

So it looks like tomorrow night's episode really will be the last one.

Mirror Online has contacted representatives for Sainsbury's and the BBC for comment.
