Legacies season 2 cast: Who will Thomas Doherty play?

Legacies season two will premiere on The CW on Thursday, October 10. Unfortunately, the UK does not have a release date for Legacies seasons one and two. However, like other CW shows, Legacies is likely to air on Netflix at some point in the future. The entire main cast is returning for the second season alongside some new faces.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers about Legacies season 1 and 2

Who will Thomas Doherty play in Legacies season 2?

Thomas Doherty will star as Sebastian, Hope’s (played by Danielle Rose Russell) new love interest in Legacies season two.

Although Sebastian will look very young, he is hundreds, if not thousands of years old.

Hope’s new vampire love interest will come as a surprise to Legacies fans after showrunner Julie Plec previously said that the series romances would be different from those in Vampire Diaries.

Speaking to Cinema Blend ahead of season one of Legacies, Plec said: “When I read The Vampire Diaries and I thought, ‘Well, God, that’s weird. Stefan’s technically been on this Earth for, like, 162 years and Elena’s 17,’ and I said I’m just going to let it go because Edward was older.

“And, like, that was literally, like, people seem cool with Edward and Bella, so they’re going to be cool with this and that’s just the end of it, and I’m going to, like, just put my head down and power through.”

HAS HOPE AND ALARIC’S FATE BEEN REVEALED?

She added: “There is something deeply romantic in that gothic and harlequin romance kind of way, and deeply inappropriate if you look at it through another lens.

“And now, in 2018, there just is only one lens in my opinion in this moment, and I’m cool with that… So it’s actually we’ve tried to be a little bit just socially responsible for the moment.

“It also opened doors for us to tell vampire stories that we haven’t actually told yet. So it’s fun.”

In season one of Legacies, Hope was romantically involved with Landon Kirby (Aria Shaoghasemi), who was the same age as her.

However, things came to a devastating end after Hope sacrificed herself to protect him from a terrible fate.
