Meghan Markle ‘will do something to distract’ from King Charles’s Coronation
On Tuesday’s instalment of Dan Wootton Tonight, the GB News host was speaking to royal biographer Tom Bower on the King’s attempt to smooth over the relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
With the Coronation taking place next month, the monarch has decided to include a family portrait which features Harry and Meghan in the official Buckingham Palace souvenir programme.
The photograph, which was taken back in 2018, shows Queen Camilla, Prince William, Kate Middleton and their three children all laughing together in the gardens of Clarence House.
However, the decision to include Harry and Meghan in the brochure, despite the ongoing conflict between them, hasn’t gone down well.
With Dan left stumped at why The Sussexes have been added, the royal biographer slammed the monarch by calling his decisions cowardly.
The author said: “On the one hand, he’s being cowardly and then he’s constantly dithering because he just doesn’t want to be disliked.
“He doesn’t realise that the only way to impose a reign, as opposed to an argument or whatever he normally did as Prince of Wales, is you’ve got to be firm.
“He’s not firm and that’s why the Coronation is still undecided. The key aspects: Should there be this bishop? Should this priest be there or not? What should they say?
“He is actually performing exactly as I feared, self-indulgent and unable to fix his focus on what is necessary.”

Touching on Charles’ olive branch by trying to have Meghan and Harry as part of the event, Tom told Dan he should have banned his son.
The biographer also believes the monarch should clearly state Prince Andrew has no role in the Coronation.
Tom continued: “What is terrible is we’re discussing, ‘Why is Meghan not here?’
“That is Charles’ fault completely. She’s wormed her way into his consciousness.”
As Dan explained he doesn’t think Meghan should’ve received an invitation at all, he fumed at them being added to the brochure.
He said: “They’re not part of the Royal Family, they don’t want to be.”
Agreeing, the royal biographer commented: “Exactly, and he is just foolish the King.
“I fear that his reign is going to suffer from that indecision and that desperate plea to be liked.”
