JESY Nelson thanked fans for their "beautiful messages" as she finally broke her silence on her Little Mix exit and mental health battle.
The 29-year-old star's first interview since she sensationally quit the girl group in December landed today – and she did not hold back in the chat.
The singer bravely opened up about her decision to leave the band after reaching "breaking point" – adding that she "didn't know she could be so happy".
Fans are thrilled to see how well she is doing, and flocked to social media to praise Jesy for speaking out.
The beauty was clearly overwhelmed by the kind words, taking to her Instagram Story this evening to thank fans for their support.
She simply wrote: "I love you all so much, thank you for all your beautiful messages" and a red heart emoji.
Jesy also re-posted some messages of support from her friends and famous fans – including Holly Hagan and influencer Felicity Hayward.
Speaking to Cosmopolitan as this month's cover girl, Jesy admitted that she was unhappy in Little Mix – and she feels "free" since leaving.
The star also confessed to having a panic attack and breaking down in tears when filming the band's music video for Sweet Melody – which is when she realised she had to walk away.
Jesy explained: "There’s a scene in Sweet Melody I’m not in because that’s when I had a panic attack and broke down.
"I was like, ‘I just want to go home.’ I was sobbing in the dressing room.
"Someone really close to me said, ‘This has got to stop. You can’t keep doing this to yourself. You’re going to end up where you were before.’
“For me that was the pinnacle point. I was like, ‘I need to start taking care of myself now because this isn’t healthy.’"
She added: "It wasn’t nice for the other three to be around someone who didn’t want to be there. So I took a break."
Elsewhere in the interview Jesy made a veiled dig at her former bandmates Perrie Edwards, 27, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, 29 and Jade Thirlwall, 28.
She said: “The last music video we did was the breaking point. We’d been in lockdown, and it was the first time I could have a break and be at home around people that I love.
“It was the happiest I’d ever felt and I didn’t realise that until I went back to work. I immediately became a different person.”
Little Mix fans previously reacted to the timing of Jesy's interview release – with it being published just hours after her former bandmate Leigh-Anne announced her pregnancy.
