The Strictly Come Dancing stars took to the iconic ballroom once again this weekend with a whole host of film-themed dances for Movie Week. Dan Walker and his partner Nadiya Bychkova performed a Foxtrot on Saturday night. However, the duo received criticism from the judges after Dan made an error during the routine. Speaking about the hit BBC dance show on BBC Breakfast, Dan hit back at some of the judges comments.

After watching some footage from Saturday’s instalment of Strictly, BBC Breakfast presenter Sally Nugent remarked: “We live to fight another week though, Daniel.”

Dan replied: “Yeah, I just made a mistake. Thank you for calling me Daniel!

“It wasn’t like a confidence drop. I just thought, ‘Right come on get back into it’ and then…”

Sally interrupted her co-star, as she insisted: “You were just tired.”

Dan agreed: “Yes, it’s okay. I think the important thing is, I’ve only just started dancing and you’re going to make mistakes.

“A huge thank you to everybody who’s given us another week. This week we’re doing MC Hammer – You Can’t Touch This,” he revealed.

“Wow, now that’s slightly different to Sleeping Beauty!” Sally exclaimed.

Laughing at his co-host’s excitement, Dan added: “It’s a step up from sleeping beauty!”

More to come…
