I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly apologised to viewers at the beginning of Sunday night's show.
The presenting duo cracked a joke as they acknowledged the backlash they had received regarding Saturday night's episode of the ITV series.
Fans were raging over the weekend when they realised they were tuning in to a recap of the first week's antics, rather than an episode filled with brand new moments.
Following Ant and Dec's tongue-in-cheek comments, viewers took to Twitter to discuss the awkward moment.
"Hahahaha Ant and Dec addressing the big elephant in the room," one person tweeted.
A second person added: "I love that Ant and Dec commented on all the hate the show received for the pre recorded highlights show last night.
"Hopefully ITV have taken the hint and will put the show on properly next Saturday."
A third fan posted: "Haha. I thought yesterday's recap show was alright. Lots of funny unseen bits. Just needed more And and Dec," and Ant and Dec later retweeted them.

And when another person tweeted: "Please can we have a recap show of the recap show Ant and Dec?" Dec replied: "Good idea Peter. Will take that idea to the big wigs and claim it as my own. D."
Other viewers shared some hilarious memes, with one person writing: "When you spend your evening rinsing Ant and Dec only to find out they read our tweets."
Ant and Dec were clearly inundated with negative tweets after Saturday night's show when people were disappointed to find out they weren't watching a brand new episode.
Taking to Twitter fans vented their frustration and admitted they were turning off their televisions.
"This is rubbish. Saturday night and it's a repeat!" one person tweeted, while another added: "I'm A Celeb viewers switching off when they realise tonight’s episode is just a recap show."
