I hate confrontation, I'm terrible in the cold and I'm panicky in lifts, says petrified I'm A Celeb star Louise Minchin

At first glance Louise Minchin could be the ideal candidate for I’m A Celebrity – she loves the outdoors and being make-up free.

But dig a little deeper and the 53-year-old former BBC Breakfast host has a whole host of fears and worries as she prepares to enter the castle this weekend.

Speaking to The Sun Online as part of a round-table, the mum-of-two admitted she’s scared of creepy crawlies and tight spaces – two things which she is likely to be faced with in the coming weeks.

She said: “There is lots I am not looking forward to. First of all, I am really not good with creepy crawlies that move fast, cockroaches in particular absolutely freak me out and spiders as well.

“And also if I get stuck in a lift, I get panicky, so I am not good in small, enclosed spaces. So if you put those two together then that is my absolute nightmare.”

She continued:  “I am not looking forward to the eating trials all. I have no idea if I will be able to. Watching them make me feel sick.

“Also given that we are in Wales, it is going to be a lot colder than in Australia and I really feel the cold really badly, so I am not looking forward to that.”

Discussing who she could struggle to get along with on the show, Louise said: “I am a really optimistic person and I try to always be really positive so for me it would be someone who is bringing the camp down – that would be the kind of person I would find difficult.”

And if a row does erupt, Louise really doesn’t want to get involved, admitting: “I am really not very good at confrontation. I hate confrontation.”

Louise, who recently quit her BBC job after 20 years, will be sharing the camp with soap former footballer David Ginola, Good Morning Britain presenter Richard Madeley and ex-Strictly judge Arlene Phillips.

Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge and music producer Naughty Boy are amongst other names who will be throwing themselves at the mercy of presenters Ant and Dec when it starts on Sunday.
