Murder Island is a reality show unlike any other, where teams are shipped off to an island for a week to solve a murder case. They will be under the watchful eye of police experts as they attempt to work out who the killer is with real-life resources including forensics and psychologists. The Channel 4 show will be premiering on Tuesday, October 5, at 9.30pm.
Filmed during the summer, eight contestants were split into pairs and whisked away to the Scottish island of Gigha for the challenge.
Upon arrival, they were given a murder mystery scenario where the body of Charly Hendricks was found at a rundown property she had been renting from a local landlord.
It is then up to the teams to work their way through the clues to try and find who the killer is and get justice.
Whoever does manage to get to the truth first and have the culprit arrested will be winners of a whopping £50,000.

But this challenge isn’t going to be easy by any stretch of the imagination.
The whole plot of the murder mystery challenge was created by none other than author Ian Rankin who is best known for the Inspector Rebus book series.
Speaking to Radio Times magazine about the show, Rankin said: “It’s such a dangerous thing to try to do, it’s mad!
“But it stretched me in all kinds of ways because this isn’t normally the way I operate.
“It was a challenge but a really entertaining one, and it kept me sane in the first few months of the year when we were still in lockdown.”

She will be joined by her deputy former Detective Chief Inspector Simon Harding who now runs a Specialist Crime Consulting Group.
Sandhu’s second deputy is Sergeant with the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit Graham McMillan.
