Hollyoaks Luke death heartbreak, Nancy labour drama and famous face joins soap

Hollyoks fans will need to make sure they have tissues nearby next week as Luke Morgan (Gary Lucy) sadly passes away following a battle with Frontotemporal dementia.

The sun rises on the beautiful Mallorca coast as Luke and Cindy Cunningham's (Steph Waring) pre-wedding celebrations commence.

Cindy and the girls kicking back for a spa day while Luke and the boys explore the island.

It gets off to a rocky start for the boys when they discover the boat they have hired is a far cry away from the speedboat they were expecting.

However, kind stranger Alex (Matt Lapinskas) saves the day by showing them a good time.

Whilst showing off Cindy’s wedding ring, Luke and the rest of the stag do are faced with armed robbers and the groom ends up exacerbating the situation.

As the party say goodbye to new friend Alex, Luke spots his glistening jewellery and wonders why they weren’t stolen too and soon makes a shocking realisation.

Luke is set with a dangerous task and failure has a deadly cost for his son Ollie Morgan (Gabriel Clark).

With many touching moments and heartfelt reflections, the holiday is full of highs and lows, but tragedy strikes at sunset.

Whilst Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) tries to keep spirits up with a pep talk on Luke’s resilience, Cindy gets the heartbreaking news that the doctors can’t do anymore for him.

The Cunningham family return home and are faced with the reality of Luke being gone for good, but Cindy’s behaviour is particularly alarming when she puts on her wedding dress and insists on opening the burger stall.

Ignoring her family’s concerns, she goes to buy more produce from Price Slice.

Having both tragically lost their partners, Cindy and Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) come together and the latter offers some words of encouragement.

In touching scenes, Ollie surprises Cindy at the folly, revealing that Luke had been taking dancing lessons for the wedding and as he shows her what he learned.

Cindy later gets to say her final goodbye to Luke.

Elsewhere in the village, It’s the big day for Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson) and Nancy Osborne (Jessica Fox) and the happy couple are serenaded by extra-special guest, pop icon Chesney Hawkes.

Later in the week, Nancy heads to work after being reassured everything is well with her pregnancy but is quickly forced to break up a school fight between DeMarcus Westwood (Tomi Ade) and Charlie Dean (Charlie Behan).

The Deputy Head calls Felix Westwood (Richard Blackwood) in to discuss the situation, and when he eventually arrives, a series of unfortunate events lead to Nancy being locked in a classroom with Felix and her water’s break.

They both realise how inexperienced each other are with birthing when they delve into their pasts, and, touching on uncomfortable memories, they come together and support one another in delivering the baby.

New dad Darren has to fight tears as he rushes home to meet his new baby girl and is welcomed with the tragic news of the loss of his best friend.

Hollyoaks now streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4
