EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis and her dance partner Giovanni Pernice have become the bookmakers’ favourites to win Strictly Come Dancing 2021. The duo were the first couple to receive a score of 40 from the judges during the BBC competition, and ever since they have gone from strength to strength.
However, in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, Uberkinky’s sex and body language expert Ruby believes Rose and Giovanni have a “platonic” connection on the dancefloor which lands them in good stead to reach the final.
She began: “Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice have also been a topic of hot gossip on the Internet, as fans discuss their passionate and sultry Viennese Waltz.
“The dance opens with a heated argument between the pair, conducted entirely in British Sign Language, but you can still feel the chemistry between them.
“Although, could this be all down to talent?”
The expert continued: “Rose has even admitted that she laughed when Giovanni told her she needed to act like he was in love with her, saying that she couldn’t take things seriously.
“I think what we’re seeing here is a genuine and platonic connection.”
Rose and Giovanni are currently the bookies’ favourites to take home the Glitterball Trophy.
AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington follow closely behind them in the stakes.
AJ and Kai’s recent score of 39 from the judges has seen the pair leap above John Whaite and his pro partner Johannes Radebe.
However, Rose and Giovanni currently sit in first place with odds of 2/5.
While Sara Davies is the bookies’ rank outsider at 100/1.
Speaking about the latest odds, William Hill spokesperson Rupert Adams said: “Though Rose remains a very strong favourite at 2/5, AJ will have a spring in her step heading into week eight and she’s attracted strong recent support in the betting.”
He concluded: “She has been backed into 9/2 from 7/1 and we’re likely to see the gap between her and Rose shorten if she tops the judges’ scores again this Saturday.”
On Saturday night, Rose and Giovanni received mixed reviews from the judges.
Anton du Beke also sparked uproar with viewers after he said their routine “wasn’t too bad”.
“I felt that was one of your most nervous performances,” he said after they had performed.
As the judge pointed to the dancefloor, he continued: “When you got to about here, it really started to come into its own.
“You did some brilliant things. I wish you could have started like that.
“Basically a really good performance but just a bit nervous.”
Craig Revel Horwood, who is renowned for his criticism, went on to disagree with Anton.
“It looked totally natural on you,” he told them. “Which is a really difficult thing.”
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday at 6.40pm on BBC One.
