Fans of the sitcom Friends have been waiting over a decade and a half to see the show’s leading stars back together on-screen. Now, thanks to HBO Max, Friends: The Reunion is finally here, bringing the likes of Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer back to reminisce over their decade-long journey on the sitcom. Joining them to relive their own fond memories of the show was none other than Game of Thrones legend, Kit Harington.

Since the announcement that the cast of Friends would finally be reuniting after 17 years off-screen, fans have been eagerly waiting to see their favourite friends back on the couch.

The reunion special, also known as The One Where They Get Back Together, reunited the six original cast members for a night of hilarious table reads, reenactments, behind-the-scenes footage, and visits to the iconic sets.

A series of guest stars were announced in the run-up to the special airing.

Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington, a major fan of the series, is one of the guest stars on the reunion special.

And during his time on Friends: The Reunion, Harington admitted one particular scene from the show will go down in the history books for him as being the “funniest” ever on TV.

He said: “There’s a scene with David Schwimmer, where Ross is deciding not to pay for the delivery service of the sofa.

“They start taking the couch up the stairs, and quite quickly everyone gets into trouble.

“This is not something that’s going to go up the stairs,” he continued.

Harington added: “David Schwimmer tells them to start to pivot.”

He is referring to the famous ‘Pivot’ scene from the season five episode The One with the Cop, and Harington continued by explaining why the scene works so well.

“The thing about that scene is it’s so simple.

“If you were to see it on the page initially, it’s three actors carrying the couch up the stairwell.

“There’s maybe a page of dialogue, and nothing really in that dialogue suggests anything massively comic,” Harington remarked.

“But what they do in that time in carrying that couch up those stairs is one of the funniest things I’ve seen on TV,” he concluded.

Harington also discussed why he thinks Friends has remained one of the most popular sitcoms ever, despite the series ending in 2004, and discussed its everlasting appeal.

He stated: “I think one of the reasons Friends is so funny is the fact that these six actors are masters of physical comedy.”

The ‘Pivot’ scene has always been a favourite amongst fans, and it seems that various celebrities love that comedic moment just as much as well.

Harington isn’t the only special guest star to appear at the reunion, as HBO Max announced a huge line-up of guests including some former stars of the series.

Harington joins host James Corden, David Beckham, Justin Bieber, boy band BTS, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevinge, Lady Gaga, Mindy Kaling, activist Malala Yousafzai, and Nicollette Sheridan.

Former Friends guest stars are appearing as well, including Elliot Gould, Larry Hankin, Thomas Lennon, Christina Pickles, Tom Selleck, James Michael Tyler, Maggie Wheeler, and Reese Witherspoon.

The special is executive produced by the original show’s creators, Marta Kauffman, David Crane, Kevin S Bright, as well as the main cast, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer.
