Love Island is a summer ritual we never knew we needed – until we went a year without it in 2020.
Luckily, we have got weeks of drama, love, friendships, challenges and fire pit re-couplings ahead of us.
Love Island is a series we can’t not love and continuously put on at 9pm each night.
So you might feel a bit lost when the live show is missing from your screens tonight.
Live shows air six days a week, and the islanders receive a day off every week, which is why we have to suffer from no Love Island on Saturdays.
The contestants unplug themselves from their mics, take themselves off-camera and relax knowing they’re not being watched, claimed a former Love Island contestant.
Former Love Island winner 2017 and now TV presenter Kem Cetinay, confessed the truth behind the no show Saturdays on This Morning.
He explained: ”They give you one day off. You get one day off per week. What happens is, it gives them a day to clean the villa, and you take your mics off, and normally we go to the beach.”
"So what happens is, when you take your mic off, you are not allowed to talk about anything to do with the show, you have to talk about home life.
"You are being watched by the producers because they don't want you to talk about what is going on.
“They are quite careful about what you talk about because they want to keep it so everyone at home can see it.”

Love Island fans were in shock over Kem’s confession and took to Twitter to express the newfound discovery.
One fan said: "Wha! The Love Island lot get a day off each week! Saturdays = mics off, head out the villa and all hit the beach together!!! #LoveIsland”.
Another added: "I’m pretty sure Kem has just ruined love island #thismorning".
But after Kem’s announcement ex Love Islander of 2019, Amy Hart told Closer Online: “Saturday isn't a day off. We don't have days off, we have our microphones the whole time.
"Every day I was in there I was mic'd and filmed.”
Joanna Chimonides who also appeared in Love Island in 2016 added “We don't even get Sundays off. Weekends don't exist on Love Island.”
Love Island's Shannon Singh returns to Instagram with 'gutted' post after savage dumping
So unless Love Island has changed since 2019 it appears that the Islanders may not get the much needed day off as expected.
Other sources revealed that the villa gets cleaned every Saturday for the Islanders, which must be somewhat true as we never see Islanders clean the villa.
