Official spoilers for the ITV soap reveal that Amelia Spencer (played by Daisy Campbell) gets caught in the disastrous storm at the worst possible moment. Next week Emmerdale fans will see the pregnant youth go into labour while en route for her date with Noah (Jack Downham). However, as with wind picks up she ends up getting trapped as she heads into labour alone.

With Emmerdale in its 50th anniversary month, bosses of the ITV soap have been teasing for months that viewers can expect some big storylines.

Although they’ve kept specific details on what will unfold a secret, they did reveal a disastrous storm will cause havoc for residents.

In spoilers for episodes set to air next week, it looks as though pregnant youth Amelia Spencer is about to be one of the people caught in the storm’s crossfire.

As she prepares for her picnic date with Noah, the teen heads through the countryside as the wind starts to pick up.

However, getting blown about by the force of the weather and her contractions starting, she desperately calls her dad in a bid for help.

Despite Dan managing to quickly get the call, his worry starts to increase when Amelia’s phone dies just before she can reveal her location.

Alone and about to give birth, the teen heads off to find some shelter as she comes to the realisation that help is a long way off.

Luckily, Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) is on hand as she gets on her quadbike and makes haste to go and find Amelia.

Interrupting Kim Tate’s (Claire King) wedding reception at Home Farm, Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) breaks the news and asks for people’s help.

Revealing that Amelia is alone and in labour somewhere in the countryside, Lydia tries to rally as many villagers as she can as Kim steps up to the task.

Riding off into the countryside on her horse to try and locate Amelia, Kim battles against the dangerous conditions as the storm picks up.

Also out fighting the strong winds is Harriet who is frantically driving across the countryside to find Amelia.

As Kim spots Harriet’s tyre tracks from her quad bike, she follows the path into the woods rushing to find the teen before she gives birth.

A theory by Express.co.uk suggests that despite both Kim and Harriet being on their way to the barn, only one of them will successfully make it there.

With the winds getting stronger and them surrounded by trees in the woods it is possible one of them gets struck down while trying to be the hero?

It’s unclear if any characters will have a deadly end as a result of the disastrous storm, although with it being a momentous occasion it’s highly likely a few exits will happen.

Actress Daisy Campbell spoke about her character’s storyline with the storm saying Amelia knows she’s made a mistake venturing out alone.

She told Digital Spy: “Amelia ends up in a barn in the middle of nowhere, as it’s the only place she can find to shelter.

“She’s really worried at this point as she’s only 16 and is stuck in a raging storm in the middle of nowhere and has no one to help her out.

“She also can’t get in touch with anyone as all phone signals have been totally cut off due to the storm. I think at this stage her anxiety is through the roof.”

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV, and streams on the ITV Hub.
