EastEnders Patsy Palmer celebrates turning 49 with rare snap of kids and husband Richard Merkell in LA

PATSY Palmer celebrated her 49th birthday surrounded by her family in Malibu yesterday.

The actress- best known for playing Bianca in EastEnders – shared a rare picture of her whole family to mark the occasion.

In the snap she is seen alongside her gorgeous children Fenton, Emilia and Bertie.

Her husband Richard Merkell, who is dad to the trio, is also seen in the family portrait.

Emilia's boyfriend also joined them for the snap, before they headed for dinner.

Patsy's eldest Charley – her son from her relationship with Alfie Rothwell – lives in UK where is has carved a successful career as an actor.

Emilia is already working as a model, as is her son Fenton  – who was once rumoured to be dating Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia Gerber.

Alongside the picture, she wrote:  “So grateful. Such a wonderful birthday . Thank you family for making it so special 🌸🌸🌸🙏🏻💕💕 Next stop dinner 💕🌸.”

Patsy played Bianca from 1993 to 1999 and then reprised her role from 2008- 2014 and then  returned again briefly in 2019.

She moved to the US in 2014 and in 2020 she rebranded herself as a lifestyle guru and launched her own wellness Instagram page Good and Proper.

She hit headlines earlier this year when she stormed off an interview with Good Morning Britain as they labelled her  as going from an "addict to wellness guru".

The actress simply told hosts Ben Shephard and Susanna Reid: "I'm not doing this interview, I don't want to do it.

"It's not okay to have that at the bottom of the screen, I'm not going to talk to you."

Patsy has been open about her 20-year addiction to drug and booze in the past, having admitted to first drinking alcohol at the age of eight.

She also said that she began sniffing solvents aged 11, and snorted cocaine for the first time at 13.

The actress confessed that during her 1990s stint on EastEnders she'd regularly turn up to work high or hungover.

In 2010, she proudly revealed that she had been clean of drugs and alcohol since September 2004.
