EastEnders star Maisie Smith has revealed the emotional moment she shot her final scenes as Tiffany Butcher on the BBC soap.
The 20-year-old soap star has left Walford after 13 years in the soap – first appearing as a youngster.
Maisie is set to leave the soap on Tuesday (December 14) – with her final scenes airing this evening.
Speaking on Tuesday's One Show, Maisie opened up about how emotional she got on set whilst shooting her last scenes as Tiffany.
Speaking to hosts Jermaine Jenas and Lauren Laverne, Maisie said that she got tearful with her fellow castmates.
Lauren asked: "What was it like filming your last episode?"
Maisie replied: "Oh it was emotional. I'm quite a cry-baby anyway – especially with Shona – she really brings it out of me. And all of our last scenes, we just sobbed.
"Even in the happy scenes we just cried because it was weird, because obviously I've said goodbye before and I remember it so clearly and it just feels like the time has flown.
"I'm sad to be saying goodbye again because it's such a wonderful family that you build because you see the same people every day and you work with them and build such a lovely friendship with everyone, so it was sad to leave everyone."
Lauren was eager to find out if Maisie would ever make a bombshell return to EastEnders, and Maisie was quick to answer.
The presenter asked: "Has the door been left open?"
Maisie replied: "Always! You never really leave EastEnders and that's a fact. They always find a way to bring you back and I'll definitely come back."
Smith first left EastEnders in 2014 before she returned for a short guest sting in November 2016 – making a full-time comeback in 2016.
It was announced that she would be leaving the soap again in October of this year.
In a statement, she said: "It’s time to say farewell to Tiff!
"I’ve grown up on EastEnders since 2008, and have learnt from the best over the past 13 years.
"I’m very excited for my next challenge and thank the BBC for the opportunity they gave me as a six-year-old."
Executive producer Jon Sen said that everyone on the show is "very sad to see Maisie leave" and that she's been a "wonderful company member".
He added: "It's been a privilege to see her blossom into the star she is".
