The residents of EastEnders are evidently getting in the football spirit, as they celebrate with a Euro 2020 party in the Queen Vic!
Mick Carter, played by Danny Dyer, is in his element, as he plans the event, while Terry ‘Rocky’ Cant (Brian Conley) can’t stop going on about how his best mate is going to join in on the fun.
But who’s his best mate, you ask?
Why, only Harry Redknapp, of course!
Billy Mitchell, Jay Brown and Sonia Fowler gossip, and they refuse to believe such Terry’s claims.
You can, therefore, imagine their surprise when footballing icon Harry himself rocks up in Walford!
Billy, as pictured, can’t quite believe he’s standing in the presence of such a legend, and grabs his camera for a quick selfie with the man himself.
Phil Mitchell, meanwhile, seemingly joins Tommy Moon, son of Kat Slater, for a kickabout in the Square.
Mick is bowled over by Harry’s arrival in the Queen Vic, and even asks him to sign his much-loved Hammer’s shirt.
‘It was great,’ said Harry, discussing his upcoming appearance on the BBC One soap.
‘I’m a Brian [Conley] fan so it was great that I’m Rocky’s mate in the show. I know Danny [Dyer] really well too, he’s a great guy, it was great to be with them.’
Harry said that he really enjoyed the experience, but admitted that prior to stepping on the set, he didn’t know that Walford wasn’t actually a real place.
‘I thought it was all real,’ he said, ‘I didn’t realise so that was a surprise! I thought they must have bought a real square up and used it for filming, I didn’t realise the houses have all been built for the show!’
EastEnders airs these scenes Friday July 9 at 7:30pm on BBC One.
