Asha (played by Tanisha Gorey) has been taking centre stage in a harrowing storyline on Coronation Street of late, having been the victim of a revenge porn plot. For the past few months, viewers of the ITV soap have watched as the youngster has struggled with the backlash from her ordeal and having to move schools as a result. The teenager has had the support of her friends Summer (Matilda Freeman) and Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney), as well as her father Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) being over-protective. However, she could be about to make a discovery about one of her friends, who could be harbouring something which would be the ultimate betrayal against the troubled character.
The storyline began when Asha was trying to get attention from her classmate Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) and ended up taking her clothes off for him over a video call.
What she didn’t realise was the schoolboy had recorded the images and when newcomer Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson) got her hands on the pictures, she circulated them on social media.
Even though the teenager was left furious, upset and traumatised by her private life being shared on the internet, Summer still took pity on her friend’s enemy and asked the troublemaker to move in with her, Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) and Paul Foreman (Peter Ash), when her mother fled the cobbles.
However, Dev’s daughter has turned to Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) for moral support during this time and this evening’s episode will see her take on a more positive attitude and confront her ex-boyfriend.
Something else could arise from these scenes which could trigger the next chapter in this storyline, but will this lead to betrayal as Asha discovers Summer has feelings for her tormentor?

Ahead of tonight’s instalment, the official website for the soap has released a preview clip of the teenager confronting Corey.
At the time, Asha is speaking with Summer and Nina after the latter gave her so much needed advice to take control of her situation.
Moments later, the boy who recorded the sexual images of her walks by and it’s not long before the youngster is giving him a piece of her mind.
“Hey, Corey. How come you never stood up for me? I mean, you didn’t complain when I took all my clothes off,” Asha says.
Continuing her rant about Corey not apologising or standing up for her when his friends were berating her, the teenager says: “You should have stuck up for me.
“Believe me, you would have looked a lot cooler if you did instead of sitting in the corner with your mates, sniggering whilst I was being completely humiliated.”
Trying to defend himself, the teenager doesn’t accept any of it as Asha adds: “I mean, you could have told them to delete it, you could have told them it was all your fault.
“You could have even said I didn’t deserve any of it. I would have been well impressed by that but you didn’t.”

“You were scared and to be honest, it makes you lot pathetic. So toddle off with you little mates. I don’t want to know you any more,” Asha tells him as Summer looks on shocked.
With the latter comment seemingly confirming the teenager has officially ended things with Corey, this means he could start showing an interest in another character.
Amy has been a dear friend to the teenager through all this and even though she has flirted with the schoolboy before, her support for Dev’s daughter would outweigh her chances of starting things up with him.
However, Summer has already become best friends with Kelly after offering her a new home, so could she could after Asha’s tormentor next?

Secretly, Billy’s foster daughter might have been harbouring feelings for the schoolboy for some time but needed the all-clear from her friend first to pursue anything.
As she begins a new chapter and starts to look at her life more positively, Asha’s world could come crashing down if she discovers her friend’s betrayal.
Seeing her former classmate so upset, Amy could confront Summer about going after Corey, but would the teenager stand down?
Or, could this be the start of a new, dark storyline for the timid youngster as she turns on those closest to her due to spending so much time with Kelly?
Coronation Street continues tonight at 7:30pm on ITV.
