Coronation Street: The Barlow’s interrogate Peter
Coronation Street fans were left fuming at Carla Connor (played by Alison King) and feeling sorry for Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) after he begged his wife for a fresh start and admitted he was suffering.
After he killed Stephen and was let go by the police, Peter admitted to Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) that he was struggling with grief.
He was also concerned that he was going to fall off the wagon and decided to start attending multiple AA meetings for his alcoholism a week.
Peter attempted to air his feelings towards Carla the other night but he was shut out when business at Underworld became more important.
During tonight’s episode, Peter spoke with his wife about starting fresh in Spain as his friend was setting off on a cruise but things didn’t go as planned.

After a tough day, Peter approached a stressed Carla and asked: “Do you remember my mate Micky who lived in Greece, we were going to go a crew for him at some point. It was ages ago.
“Well, I was just on the phone to him and he is doing really well, right so, he has expanded his business and he has moved from Greece to Mallorca.
“He says he is making money… taking people round the island, scuba diving, great food and all that.”
Carla sarcastically responded: “Well thank you for catching me up on the life and times of somebody I have never met, but seriously I could murder a holiday right now.”
Interrupting her, Peter explained: “No hang on, I’m not talking about a holiday, he is looking for a crew, what do you say, me and you sailing off into the sunset? It would be a fresh start for us both.”

Shooting him down, Carla explained: “Peter, you can’t run away from your problems, remember like your support group said wherever you go there you are.”
Pleading with her, he replied: “Yeah I know but it has got to be better than here, I mean what do we do every day?
“We wake up, we go to work, we go to bed, next day, repeat, repeat, repeat. I have not been doing do well.”
Still confused, she noted: “You have to admit this is a bit out of the blue, spur of the moment, nothing is thought out.
“Are you winding me up right now? Can we just talk about this later because you know one emergency at a time.”
However, Peter dropped a bomb: “So that’s it, it’s a no then because he sets sail next week…”
Furious, she exclaimed: “Next week? Next week Peter! Do you really think I can pack up my life, my business and just go off in a few days?
“Sorry, it is a very hard no from me,” before she walked off on a work call leaving Peter deflated.
