CBS News' Gayle King shows off her weight loss in sexy yellow dress after 'five-day soup fast'

CBS News Anchor Gayle King showed off her weight loss as she posed in a sexy yellow dress.

The 65-year-old shared that she dropped the weight after a "five-day soup fast."

Gayle has been updating her social media followers about her weight loss journey.

On Tuesday, the news anchor shared two photos of her on a scale.

One had her weighed in at 172.2 lbs., while the more recent snap showed that she weighed 165.0 lbs.

She captioned the post: "Just completed 5 day soup fast & the results are in!

"Trying to get into mustard yellow dress for Elex night coverage TONITE ..praying to sweet black baby Jesus it now fits, that you VOTE, & that there is PEACE."

Gayle added: "ps plz withhold all negative comments about my jacked up feet I’m well aware they are a hot mess but not yet comfortable in a covid environment going to nail salon… bigger issues to worry about …."

On Wednesday, Gayle shared a series of snaps that showed her rocking the yellow dress mentioned in the previous post.

While the first four photos in the post showed Gayle composed as she covered the 2020 presidential election, the final shot caught the anchor cuddled up with a blanket.

She wrote in the caption: "THEEE yellow dress aka Elex nite dress!

"Made it on the set after 5 day fast- marathon hours means no time to go home to change so said dress became pajamas as I slept 45 min on couch in green room .. tv news so glamorous!

"Have you ever worn same thing to work two days in a row ?"

Gayle first shared her plans to drop the extra pounds in an Instagram post last week as she cited Halloween and the coronavirus pandemic as the reasons behind her weight gain.

Alongside a series of shots that showed her stepping on a scale, she wrote: "CRISIS! The weight struggle is real!

"Fatter than I’ve been in long time .. & scared to get a pedicure (big sigh) swipe left for the way we were."

The anchor continued: "Ideal weight says Dr is 163… not happening anytime soon .. blaming corona quarantine & Halloween candy corns I just bought !"

She concluded: "Make it stop!"
