BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT is back and with a bang as the semi-finals get underway.
Coronavirus put the competition on hold after the auditions were held at the beginning of the year.
Now 40 acts will be hoping to reach the Britain's Got Talent 2020 Grand Final in October in five semi-finals – starting tonight.
Eight acts will look to impress the judges this evening to secure an automatic place in the final.
Dance group Urban Turtles and magician James Stott are among the performers, along with comedian Steve Royle and 13-year-old singer Fayth Ifil.
- The first Britain's Got Talent semi-final starts tonight at 8pm
- Watch live on ITV1 and on ITV Hub
- The eight acts performing are: Urban Turtles, James and Dylan Piper, Imen Siar, Yakub, James Stott, SOS From the Kids, Fayth Ifil, and Steve Royle
SI-GN ON THE DOTTED LINE…
Amanda and Simon were the show’s original judges, alongside Piers Morgan, when it first aired in 2007.
Remember that? How different did Amanda look back then? Check it out.
Alesha and David joined the ITV show in 2012, replacing David Hasselhoff, 68, and Michael McIntyre, 44, who had served on the panel for just one series.
TELL ME WHEN IT’S ON!
The BGT extravaganza is on tonight, Saturday, at 8pm.
Roll out the red carpet for Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, get dolled up and watch from the comfort of your own home. Or just stay in your PJs.
OMG. It’s BGT!
What are YOU doing later? Need I ask? As if you didn’t know. It’s only the BGT Semi Final tonight! In a couple of hours it’s all kicking off with a BGT-shaped bang.
The reality show is back on our screens at last after taking a Corona-crashing break – but the 2020 semi is here and I don’t know about you, but it couldn’t have come at a better time. So sit back with me, put your feet up, grab some popcorn and we can watch the all-impressive glittering, glamorous show. It’s going to be a bobby dazzler.
Britain's Got Talent's 2020 auditions aired earlier in the year, but the series ground to a halt after they finished in May due to the Covid crisis. So what’s going on tonight with the social distancing?
BGT has added extra health and safety measures in place – including pre-recording the semi-finals without an audience, which are usually live and in front of a crowded studio. It might sound weird, but fear not – it’s going to feel just as electric as usual.
But there’s no Simon on screen tonight either. The head judge has broken his back in three places and is being replaced by Diversity talent Ashley Banjo along with judges Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.
Ant and Dec are back doing their thing as usual for the 2020 edition. So expect lots of LOLs and their cheeky chappy bantz from start to finish. How much have you missed these boys?
So what shocker of a dress is Amanda – the stand-in head judge – going to be wearing and how many Offcom complaints is she set to get? Can’t wait to see.
