Emmerdale village is never going to be the same again now that beloved stalwart and matriarch Lisa Dingle (Jane Cox) is dead – and one person who is going to take the tragic loss far harder than many is her much loved daughter Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper).
Viewers were heartbroken after a rollercoaster of an episode saw Lisa and her husband Zak (Steve Halliwell) get married and then party with their family and friends in a real show of love and laughter – and accompanied by the resurrection of The Woolpackers.
But as Lisa headed home to prepare a gift for her beloved Zak and get changed out of her muddy wedding dress, she took a rest on the sofa and drifted off, never to wake. Zak returned home and was heartbroken to find that his wife had passed, sobbing that it was too soon for her to be taken from him.
Tonight, the rest of the Dingles reel from the news and Belle will be distraught that she never got to say a proper goodbye to a mum who has been there for her through thick and thin and many a crisis.
The rock of the family, Lisa will be sorely missed and members of the Dingles try and support one another as the reality hits home that she is gone.
But who will be able to hold it together and who will crack under the grief?
Can vulnerable Belle cope with the tragedy?
Emmerdale continues on Friday 24th May at 7pm on ITV.
