Andy reportedly popped the question on the beach and the pair got married at a romantic ceremony in 2007.
Many of Andy's Coronation Street co-stars attended the ceremony as the star-studded guest list included Jennie McAlpine, Kym Marsh, Alan Halsall and Tina O'Brien, who caught the bouquet.
Nichola regularly shares family snaps on social media and seems to share her husband's sense of humour.
On their wedding anniversary back in 2018, she posted a snap of her and Andy on the day of their marriage.
The couple were giggling together, and Nichola captioned the sweet picture: "This photo just about sums up our marriage. Happy Anniversary. Hope we have many more happy years together. Love you."
Nichola also often shares snaps of their plush pad in Atherton – including photos of she and Andy sharing a beer in their luxurious hot tub.
Nichola is also a dog lover and in October 2020, she introduced the family's new pooch to her fans.
The adorable Rolo features in many snaps on her Instagram.
Before Rolo, the Whyment family had another dog, Regi.
Regi appeared in many of Nichola's social media snaps and even featured on her and Andy's wedding cake.
Sadly, the dog passed away in 2018.
The couple have spoken about their close family bond in interviews and Andy became emotional about his loved ones while appearing on I'm a Celeb.
Andy was blown away when he had the chance to win a care package from his beloved family.
He said in the Bush Telegraph: "I hope that we get the 12 stars and the 12 packages and today will be a different day and everyone will be happy."
Later he added "I'm right at the bottom of the roast dinner list but to just get a picture from home.
"I miss my kids so much" he said with tears in his eyes.
Nichola spoke to the Mirror about how she and the kids reacted to seeing Andy so emotional on the show.
She explained: "It really upset us to see Andy upset, when you see him laughing and joking it makes it so much easier as I know he is enjoying the experience.
"I knew it would mean an awful lot to him to get the photograph of the family."
Nichola added that "Hollie cried" because Andy didn't get a roast dinner.
She added: "There would have been tears for sure if he didn’t get his package."
Andy began his acting career after training at the Laine Johnson Theatre School in Salford.
His first television performance was in Cracker in 1993, and the star also had small roles in The Cops, Heartbeat and Where the Heart Is.
From 1999 to 2000, Andy played Darren Sinclair-Jones in the BBC's The Royle Family.
