All American hasn’t been seen since November 2022 with The CW fans desperate to see it make a comeback. Thankfully, the wait is almost over as the eighth episode of the sports drama’s fifth outing will soon premiere. Here’s everything there is to know to watch All American.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from All American.

What time does All American season 5 start?

All American returned for season five in early October but it wasn’t too long before it took a break from the small screen.

The last time a new instalment aired, it was Monday, November 28, meaning All American has been on hiatus for around two months now.

So it’s easy to understand why viewers are desperate for the series to resume its scheduling.

Fans can find out what happens next in All American when it returns on Monday, January 23, at 8pm ET on The CW.

In episode seven of All American, AD Barnes (played by Morris Chestnut) announced Garrett (Sean Carrigan) no longer worked at GAU after Bounty Gate.

Many members of the team quit as they are afraid the NCAA will give the death penalty to the programme and recruits are leaving after the scandal.

In light of all the changes, Coach Kenny (Mustafa Speaks) tells Spencer James (Daniel Ezra) and Jordan (Michael Evans Behling) that he’s looking elsewhere with Barnes stating he wanted to find a new coach from the outside.

The players campaigned for Kenny to take over the role but in an unexpected twist, Barnes asked for Billy (Taye Diggs) to become the new GAU coach.

Elsewhere, Jordan tells Spencer he’s thinking about transferring to Wilmont.

He attempts to persuade his friend to do the same but doesn’t want to leave his original team so as Spencer remains where he is, Jordan gives up his jersey.

So how will this affect their friendship going forward as they play for rival teams?

Prior to the episode being released, a synopsis for episode eight has come out.

The description for season five, episode eight, Feel So Good, reads: “When Laura throws Billy a surprise birthday party, everyone comes together to roast Billy, but Billy has a looming decision hanging over his head.

“Spencer makes an effort to do what’s best for himself, hoping it helps Olivia and him take a step towards moving on.

“Jayme offers some sage advice to Asher about his speech with JJ, but she ignores her own about watching out for red flags.

“Meanwhile, Jordan and Layla get in their first fight over something neither of them could have predicted.”

Viewers will be thrilled to learn the story is far from over just yet.

All American was given an early season renewal last week, taking the drama up to season six.
President of entertainment at The CW Brad Schwartz said: “Over the last five seasons, ‘All American’ has established itself as one of the all-time CW flagship franchises.

“All American is not only the network’s youngest series, but also the strongest performer when combining all our platforms.

“We look forward to continuing our collaboration with showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, the entire creative team and the incredible cast for another season of captivating family drama.”

All American season 5 continues on Monday, January 23, at 8pm ET on The CW.
