Watch MMA KO of the Year candidate as Emily Ducote floors Danielle Taylor with brutal punch and kick to the head

EMILY DUCOTE delivered one of the most stunning knockout blows of the year to win the Invicta FC strawweight belt.

Danielle Taylor was the American's unfortunate victim in Kansas City on Friday night, in what has been described as a clear statement to UFC.

The pay-per-view fight ended in brutal fashion as a precision one-two strike from Ducote left her opponent on the canvas.

A right-hook landed on 5ft 0in Taylor to leave her wobbling but still on her feet.

Until Ducote finished the job with a left-leg kick that connected with serious power, rocking her rival backwards to end the fight.

The referee stepping in was merely a formality as Ducote began to celebrate her victory.

The 27-year-old now holds a 10-6 record in MMA with most of her defeats coming in a two-year stint with Bellator earlier in her career.

Her last shot at the Invicta title ended in defeat in 2019 and she said on Friday: "It's amazing.
