A SMALL but select field contest the King Edward VII Stakes, but who will our top tipsters be backing?
With tips from our very own Templegate, Matt Chapman and the latest race trends, we've got the all-important views on each race right here.
Who is running in the King Edward VII Stakes?
What are the top tips for the race?
Templegate – Japan
He charged home when beaten just half a length by stablemate Anthony Van Dyck in the Derby.
His jockey Wayne Lordan dropped his whip in the closing stages and, while it didn’t cost him victory, it hardly helped.
Matt Chapman – Japan
No chance of me being clever here with JAPAN the obvious selection after his third behind Anthony Van Dyck in the Derby. His rider lost his whip on that occasion and without that he might have been even closer. A great chance to score for Aidan O'Brien.
Wizard Of Odds – Pondus
Dive into PONDUS for the King Edward VII Stakes. James Fanshawe’s colt is taking a step up in class here but deserves it after a superb win at Sandown last time out.
Trends – Private Secretary
The trends leave us with a battle between PRIVATE SECRETARY and Pondus with the former getting the nod. That’s largely because trainer John Gosden knows what it takes to win this race.
