THE Placepot can be one of the best bets to have at Royal Ascot – and we're here to make sure it's a winning one this year!
The Sun Racing team have put together their selections for each day's Placepot.
Race 1 – Queen Anne Stakes 2.30pm
Produced a massive career-best when accounting for plenty of these rivals in the Lockinge. Sir Michael Stoute is a dab hand with this kind of horse and if coming on again he has a massive chance.
Dermot Weld certainly knows the time of day and this four-year-old is a strong traveller who is unexposed over this trip. He has a big engine and Frankie Dettori is a top booking.
Race 2 – Coventry Stakes 3.05pm
Archie Watson's two-year-olds have been as electric as a power plant so far this season and this one produced a taking debut at Goodwood. Oisin Murphy hasn't disguised how much he likes him and he has enough raw speed to go very close at the least.
Rare first time out winner for trainer Michael Bell when striking on debut at Yarmouth. Will have learnt plenty and should go well.
Race 3 – King's Stand Stakes 3.40pm
Star sprinter won this last year and has looked even better this campaign, carrying all before him in Dubai. He'll be staying on strongly in the final furlong and should be able to pick off favourite Battaash once again.
Superstar filly who ran her socks off to finish third in this race last year. However, she looks as if she could be even better this year and will be coming home with a late rattle and can be in the finish again.

Race 4 – St James's Palace Stakes 4.20pm
King Of Comedy
Long been highly-regarded by connections and has looked every inch a superstar in the making. Bolted up in the Heron Stakes last time
when plenty went wrong in the preliminaries and should be able to take the step up in class in his stride.
Rallied bravely to finish second to the top-class Persian King in the French Guineas last time. That is strong form and he looks overpriced.
Race 5 – Ascot Stakes 5.00pm
Former very smart hurdler returned to the level with a taking performance in a decent little race at Killarney last time. Has found a new lease of life for trainer Dennis Cullen and could run them close.
Hughie Morrison's stayer looked to be getting back to his best when coming home fifth in the Chester Cup. He loves a test of stamina and can sneak into the places.

Slightly disappointing since winning the Bet365 Mile last term but this is a hefty drop back in grade and the step up in trip could help.
First-time cheekpieces should eke out a bit more and he's the class angle in the race.
Drops in class following a cracking third in Grade 1 company in the US. Gets weight all round and looks sure to run well.
