PICTURED: Juventus flop Emre Can breaks young girl’s glasses with wayward shot in warm up for Sassuolo clash – The Sun

EMRE CAN'S shooting boots have been missing all season as one unfortunate Sassuolo fan discovered in the most painful of ways on Sunday.

The out-of-form midfielder has been unable to hit the target throughout the 2018/19 campaign and continued the theme while warming up for Juventus' Serie A clash, smashing a fan's glasses with a wayward attempt.

Rossella Bornero took to twitter to reveal the extent of the damage, posting a selfie including her snapped specs and a medical note to boot.

With Can struggling for game time this term, the former Liverpool man has played just five times for the Italian giants, it didn't take fans long to stick the boot into the German international.

One wrote: "At least he did something today" while another said "Being on the field for 54 minutes he managed to destroy me and everything 300km away."

Others felt Can should at least offer to replace the glasses and some even suggested Rossella should sue the club for damages.

Rossella, though, was quick to defend Can and said any pain caused was a price she was willing to pay in order to support her club.

She tweeted: "It (the tweet) was simply to make me laugh about something absurd! Among thousands of people he caught me … nothing more nothing less … does not detract from either my Juve or the player. These are the risks of those who go to the South curve to support their team."

The incident comes during a season in which Can has played a bit-part role for Juventus and he was left out of the club's Champions League squad earlier in the campaign.

His drop down the pecking order in Turin has led many to suggest he will depart the club and he has been linked with a number of clubs ahead of the January transfer window.

The 25-year-old is said to be a target for Manchester United, while the likes of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are also believed to be keen on offering him an escape route from Turin.

Can is himself eager to secure a departure, but still has over two years to run on his contract with Juventus.
