Newcastle 'interested in Evan Ndicka transfer as Eddie Howe puts £23.5m Eintracht Frankfurt defender on summer wishlist'

NEWCASTLE are interested in signing Evan Ndicka from Eintracht Frankfurt this summer.

Toon boss Eddie Howe has been spearheading a revolution at the club since their new Saudi owners came in last October.

The Magpies signed five players including Kieran Trippier, Chris Wood, Bruno Guimaraes, Dan Burn in January's transfer window.

And they also brought in Matt Targett on loan until the end of the season from Aston Villa.

Howe's shrewd business moves have paid dividends as Newcastle have stormed up from the bottom half of the table into the top ten following a series of epic victories.

It's a far cry from when the Magpies were fighting for Premier League survival just a few months ago.

And now, Howe's turned his attention on Ndicka in order to solidify Newcastle's spot amongst the Prem big boys next season, Bild claim.

The German publication allege that Howe plans to swoop on the 22-year-old centre-back when the transfer window opens in the summer.

Ndicka's been in rare form for Frankfurt this season, chipping in with four goals and as many assists in 29 Bundesliga games.

The French ace will add some much needed grit to Howe's back four.

And Newcastle might be in luck as Frankfurt are willing to offload Ndicka this summer for £23m, the report continued.

His contract ends in 2023 and Frankfurt aren't planning on renewing it, the report also stated.

However, Newcastle have also got eyes on Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer.

But the Tyneside club will have to fend off competition from Arsenal and Juventus who are also tracking the 25-year-old.
