A FORMER Arsenal star looks unrecognisable in a throwback shot of him as a child.

The ex-Emirates ace spent eight years with the Gunners before leaving the club in 2019.

Appearing in a video on on YouTube posted by KEEPUP, a throwback shot showed the right-back as a kid.

In the snap he showed off a cheeky grin and blonde hair.

The defender spent eight years at the Emirates, before leaving for Nottingham Forest in 2019.

Now 31, the right-back plies his trade with Newcastle.

Not Eddie Howe's Newcastle, but rather A-League side Newcastle Jets.

And the mystery star is none other than Carl Jenkinson.

The picture of a young Jenkinson is from his time in the academy at Charlton Athletic.

He moved to Arsenal aged 19 and played 70 games for the Gunners, winning the FA Cup in 2014.

After leaving permanently to join Forest in 2019, he completed a move to Newcastle Jets last summer.

Jenkinson earned his solitary England cap in November 2012, coming on as a substitute for Glenn Johnson in a 4-2 friendly defeat against Sweden.
