MASON MOUNT has been getting a lot of plaudits for Chelsea and there has been a clamouring on Twitter for him to get an England call-up.
Mount, 20, who has started in all three of the Blues' Premier League games this season, bagged his second of the campaign against Norwich when he fired an unstoppable effort past Tim Krul.
Having lit up the Championship last term while on loan at Derby, there are high hopes for the striker.
So much so, that his form earned him a call-up to the senior England squad last year, although he didn't play for the Three Lions.
And now fans think Gareth Southgate should look to him once again.
Under Frank Lampard, the Blues have put their trust in the youngsters, something which Gary Lineker lauded on Twitter.
He wrote: "Mount and Abraham with the early goals. Great to see youth finally getting its chance at @ChelseaFC.
"Hopefully this ambitious approach will get the patience it deserves."
Stan Collymore also gave his backing to Mount, as he said: "Would give Mason Mount an opportunity in the upcoming Bulgaria and Kosovo games for England all day long.
"Mobile, confident, positionally aware. Only going to get much much better."
Meanwhile, other fans rushed to Twitter to give their thoughts.
One wrote: "Mason Mount for England asap."
Another tweeted: "Mason Mount getting an England call up this year trust."
Former Blues star Joe Cole reckons Mount has what it takes to be a star at both club and international level.
He said: "He is Frank's general.
"He could have many, many successful years with Chelsea and England!"
