But the England ace continued the game – and scored – at Old Trafford.

While midfield enforcers Casemiro and Fred face being BANNED for the weekend trip to Arsenal if they are booked against the Eagles on Wednesday.

Both are on four yellow cards for the season.

Premier League rules say players who receive five yellow cards within the first 19 games of the season will be slapped with a one-game ban.

Pat on the back for Eagles

The Palace boss spoke about his side’s current form:

We want to improve every aspect of the football club. Look at the performance we had against Chelsea on Sunday. In that performance, we showed ambition in the way we want to play the game. We keep working and we keep believing in ourselves, because the chances are there. I want my players to be more ruthless inside the box and take those chances.

    Red Devils brimming with confidence

Erik ten Hag’s side beat local rivals Man City 2-1 at the weekend in the Premier League despite going behind at Old Trafford.

City were left fuming with the latest interpretation of the offside law, deeming that Marcus Rashford was not interfering with play, as Bruno Fernandes took the ball from him to equalise Jack Grealish’s opening goal.

To rub salt in the wound, it was then Rashford himself who scored the winner to give United all three points in the Manchester derby.

Welcome to Crystal Palace v Man Utd

Palace welcome Man Utd to Selhurst Park tonight with the visitors looking to make it ten wins in a row in all competitions.

Injury was added to insult for Palace in their defeat to Chelsea, as ever-present centre-back Joachim Anderson came off with a calf problem in the first half, although Viera is unsure of the severity of the issue just yet.

Anderson joins long-term absentees James McArthur and Nathan Ferguson in the treatment room, but Viera has no other concerns to worry about this evening, where Wilfried Zaha will line up against his former employers.

James Tompkins is expected to come in to replace Anderson in the centre of defence.

Man Utd did not come out of their clash with Man City unscathed either, as Anthony Martial had to come off at half-time, while Marcus Rashford took a knock to the hip but was able to complete the game.

Donny van de Beek, Axel Tuanzebe and Jadon Sancho remain out of contention for the visitors.

Diogo Dalot is unlikely to return from a hamstring injury just yet, meaning a start for ex-Eagles right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka should be in order.

Antony can expect a recall to the frontline if Martial’s injury keeps him out, while Lisandro Martinez could be in line for a start after building his fitness since the World Cup in the last few weeks.
