THE Copa America is without a host country, less than TWO WEEKS before kicking off.
Colombia and Argentina were supposed to co-host the tournament, which is set to begin on June 13.
But both have been removed due to ongoing issues.
Colombia were taken out of the running on May 20, because of protests against president Ivan Duque.
And Argentina followed suit over the weekend, because of a surge in Covid-19 cases.
Atletico Madrid star Luis Suarez, 34, is set to play in the tournament for Uruguay, but said that priority must be given 'to the health of human beings'.
South American football governing body Conmebol have tried to present a calm front on the matter, insisting that it is currently 'analysing the offers of other countries'.
Chiefs are set to meet later today in order to finalise plans for the tournament.
Having been won by Brazil on home soil in 2019, the Copa America was supposed to take place again a year later, in order to move in line with the Euros in being staged during even years.
But it was postponed to this summer because of the pandemic.

The opening match is due to be played between Argentina and Chile at 10pm UK time on Sunday, June 13.
Paraguay then face Bolivia the same night, before the likes of Brazil and Colombia get their campaigns under way the next day.
The final is due to be played on July 10, wherever Conmebol decide can host the tournament at such short notice.
