'Agent' Martin Odegaard jokes Erling Haaland needs to make Arsenal transfer if he decides to move to Premier League

ARSENAL star Martin Odegaard has jokingly urged Norwegian compatriot Erling Haaland to join him at the Emirates.

The 23-year-old has stated that if the Borussia Dortmund striker is considering swapping Germany for England, he has to make the move to North London.

Haaland is believed to have agreed a £500,000-a-week deal to join Manchester City.

But Gunners fans are hoping 'Agent' Odegaard can convince him to join Mikel Arteta's project after a picture of Haaland wearing the club's 2010-11 away kit emerged online.

Supporters regularly take to social media to beg the ex-Real Madrid man to persuade Haaland to sign for Arsenal when the pair are on international duty together.

And now Odegaard has made a public request for Haaland to play alongside him should he decide to depart Signal Iduna Park.

Speaking to Stadium Astro, the former Real Sociedad loanee was asked about what Haaland is like.

To which he said: "He’s a funny guy, he’s a good guy and a good friend of mine. A great player as well of course."

He then joked: "We will see what he will do, but if he’s coming to England he needs to come to us, of course."

Odegaard was then pressed on whether Haaland has asked him for advice about playing in the Premier League amid his links with City.

But the Norway skipper refused to comment on the few discussions the pair have had about the English top-flight.

He added: "To be honest, we haven’t talked too much about it [advice on Premier League].

"I know he has so many people trying to to ask him and tell him what to do and I don’t want to do that. We’ll see what happens."

Asked whether Haaland has the physical qualities to thrive in England, Odegaard remarked: "He’s a beast.

"He’s strong, fast, I think he has everything. I think he can play in every league and every country to be honest."
