1.10pm Arsenal news LIVE: Monreal to Real Sociedad AGREED, Liverpool team news, Mustafi LATEST – The Sun

ARSENAL continue their preparations for a massive visit to Liverpool today.

The Gunners have made a promising start to this season with wins over Newcastle and Burnley and will expect to massively improve on their 5-1 hammering at Anfield last season.

Stick around for the latest Gunners news and gossip below…

  • IAN WRIGHT says it's "vitally important" that Nicolas Pepe starts alongside Aubameyang and Lacazette against Liverpool today.

Arsenal's former record goalscorer believes the pace of the three forwards could be crucial to exploiting the spaces Liverpool will leave in the full-back positions when Trent-Alexander Arnold or Andrew Robertson push forward.

Having failed to start in either of the Gunners' opening matches, the fans will be anxious for their record signing to start the game.

  • AUBAMEYANG “has no weaknesses, except fashion” says Klopp ahead of Liverpool vs Arsenal clash.

The Liverpool manager worked with the 30-year-old for three years at Borussia Dortmundbefore the German coach came to manage at Anfield in 2016.

Commenting on his former player, Klopp said, “Auba has actually no real weaknesses apart from his fashion style.”

  • NACHO MONREAL will join Real Sociedad on a two-year deal in the coming days.

Marca are reporting that the Spanish full-back will join the La Liga side for only a small fee.

With the left-back now 33 and coming to the end of his contract at the Emirates next summer, the Gunners won't be able to earn a huge amount for the defender.

  • LIVERPOOL VS ARSENAL will kick off this evening.

At 5:30pm today the two sides in red will face off in a match that will surely reveal a lot about the potential contenders for the Premier League title.

While the Gunners have failed to compete in recent years, an away victory at Anfield would suggest the side have taken a huge step up this season.

Not only did Liverpool finish just one point behind Manchester City in the last campaign, they also won the Super Cup just a few weeks ago to defeat Chelsea.

Jurgen Klopp's side are bound to be full of confidence then, after also picking up three points last week.

  • GARY NEVILLE has told Unai Emery he needs to drop his young stars for the trip to Liverpool or he fears Arsenal could get blown away.

Emery takes his side to Anfield this afternoon looking to build on an impressive opening to the season which has seen them win their first two matches.

But former Manchester United ace Neville fears the quartet of Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Matteo Guendouzi, Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson could get swallowed up by the intensity of facing Liverpool in their own back yard.

Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “I think for me it’s all about Arsenal. I think we always know what Liverpool are like at Anfield, their record there over the last 12-18 months has been outstanding.

“Arsenal have got a poor record and every time I’ve watched them in the last few years it feels a bit to me like they lack competitiveness at times, they melt.

“I worry about them when they go to Anfield, I always feel like it’s a difficult place to play but there’s a lack of adaptation.

“I’m not for them changing their whole style of play, but just for them respecting where they’re going to play and learning.”
