Virgin bride turned mum-of-11 wants to add three more kids to her huge brood

A mum who has had ten kids in ten years, and has since welcomed her 11th child, says she wants three more.

Courtney Rogers, 36, who lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, was a virgin bride when she married pastor husband Chris back in 2008.

And since then, the parents have been very busy, welcoming six boys and five girls.

However, Courtney isn't satisfied with her brood yet, saying she wants 14 kids in total.

The couple, who welcomed their 11th child in November last year, meaning they are currently parents to Clint, 11, Clay, nine, Cade, eight, Callie, seven, Cash, six, twins Colt and Case, five, Calena, four, Caydie, two, Coralee, 23 months, and Caris, six months.

Courtney, who is the the eldest of six herself, met Chris through mutual friends at church camp in Georgia in 2007.

The couple home-school their huge brood and drive a 15-seater van. Their monthly food shop also costs a pricey $1,200 (£848), but that doesn't seem to have put them off, as they want to expand their family even more.

Courtney said: "We want to have more if we can. We want to have 12 children, a family of 14 even."

To save money, the family were forced to cut out all meals and days out back in January – which were costing them more than $1,000 (£706) a month.

Meanwhile, the kids wear hand-me-down clothes and shoes, while stay-at-home mother Courtney shops in the sales to save some money.

Courtney and Chris, who were both homeschooled, say they love teaching their children at home on their 12-acres of land, which also boasts a farm.

The loving mother said it helps her to ensure all her children get attention and nobody feels left out.

However, Courtney admits she's been criticised by strangers for having so many children, and so close together.

She added: "The people who ask how I can give all my kids enough attention are usually those who send their kids off to school.

"I do not understand their logic when I am around my kids 24 hours a day."

Courtney says homeschooling means every lesson can be easily adapted, and she's not forcing her children to sit still for hours at a time.

They also get time to run around outside and feed lambs between lessons.

As well as her kids, Courtney also teaches local children at church Sunday school. She explains she's she's "more like a tutor" and sometimes has "four kids queuing up" to ask her maths questions while she's changing nappies.

Courtney has had seven vaginal births, two C-sections (one of which was to twins) and also sadly had two miscarriages.

Luckily for her, she's never suffered with morning sickness, and said she "loves being pregnant" and thinking about what her latest child will be like and picking out names.

Funnily enough, she doesn't like using birth control but says it isn't for religious reasons, and just "doesn't like the idea of taking a pill".

The parent's wake up early, around 7:30am, with Courtney calling mornings "the most hectic part of the day". However, her older children lend a helping hand and have chores to do.

Seems like they're definitely kept busy in that household, that's for sure!

Meanwhile another mum hit headlines this week as she admitted she let her daughter start modelling age 5, saying she doesn't worry about impact of ruthless the fashion world.
