DEAR DEIDRE: THE only person in the world who understands my desire to dress as a woman is a prostitute.
I am a 43-year-old man and have been a secret cross-dresser since I was a teenager.

I’m straight, and used to be married, but I feel happiest and most fulfilled when I wear women’s dresses and lingerie, make-up, wigs and heels.
The problem is it’s started making me feel lonely.
I want to be able to dress up and go out and be properly me.
But nobody else knows what I really want, not even my ex-wife.
I have told the prostitute who I spend the night with sometimes, and she was fine with it.

She has offered to take me out for the night dressed up as a woman.
Should I go out with her?
DEIDRE SAYS: Seeing a sex worker, who you have to pay, won’t stop you feeling lonely or lead to a lasting relationship with someone who genuinely accepts you.
It would help you to talk to other people who understand. Contact beaumontsociety.org.uk (01582 412 220) and see my Cross-dressing support pack.
And please only cross-dress in environments where you feel safe.
